Event Ticketing Platform

Stage Stubs

Stage Stubs is the easiest-to-use and best-value event ticketing platform built specifically for performing arts and dance events based in United Kingdom.
My Role
I worked full-time for the Raviga Group as a UX UI Designer. In this project, my role as a UX/UI Designer involved revamping a declining web platform. I addressed user pain points, notably an inconvenient shopping cart. Through research, I crafted a design strategy, revamped information architecture, and created prototypes. The outcome was a modern, engaging, and accessible platform, significantly enhancing user engagement.

Discover the problem

Challenge

A start-up company is faced with the problem that they need to improve the design, or rather, completely redesign the Web Platform. Over the past few years, the number of visits to the web platform has decreased, the design is outdated, and the content does not attract customers. One of the main problems (on the previous platform) is the inconvenient and unattractive shopping cart for booking tickets.
Potential

Solution

After discussions with the team lead, founder, and tech lead, we decided to do a complete redesign of the old web platform.

My Approach

Research

Competitors

After careful research, I found Stage Stubs competitors in the United Kingdom. This helped me identify the strengths and weaknesses of each and add strengths to my design concept. After careful research, I found Stage Staps’ competitors in the UK. This helped me identify the strengths and weaknesses of each and add strengths to my design concept.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Analysis

Compatitive analysis and benchmarking

Based on this analysis, Ticketmaster appears to be the strongest competitor, with a wide variety of events and an established brand, but also has high service fees and limited transparency about pricing. Eventbrite is a strong competitor for community events, but may not be the best choice for larger or more complex events. Skiddle and See Tickets have their strengths but also have weaknesses that could impact user experience.
In order to compete with these platforms, a new web ticketing platform Stage Stubs would need to offer a strong value proposition, such as lower fees or better customer service, and prioritize user experience through an intuitive, user-friendly design and comprehensive event listings. It would also need to ensure transparency about pricing and fees, and provide a range of payment options to cater to different users’ preferences.
Research

Target Audience

The target audience for web ticketing platforms would typically include event organizers looking to sell tickets for their events and attendees looking to purchase tickets for events they are interested in attending. The specific demographics and interests of the target audience may vary depending on the types of events being sold through the platform. For example, a platform that focuses on music festivals may target a younger audience interested in live music, while a platform that sells tickets for food and drink events may target a more mature, foodie-oriented audience.
Ultimately, I did research on clients (users) and companies (organizers). How many users and companies use the Stage Stubs platform and from which countries, (in percent %).

User Pain Points and Challenges

Users of web ticketing platforms may experience a number of pain points and challenges, including:
  1. Limited availability: Popular events can sell out quickly, leaving users unable to purchase tickets.

  3. Technical issues: Users may experience technical difficulties when purchasing tickets, such as slow-loading pages or error messages.
  4. Fraudulent tickets: Some ticketing platforms may unknowingly sell fraudulent tickets, leaving users out of pocket and unable to attend the event they had planned to go to.
  5. Poor customer service: Users may experience poor customer service, such as long wait times to speak with customer support representatives or unhelpful responses to their queries.
  6. Lack of transparency: Users may feel that ticketing platforms are not transparent about their pricing, fees, or other aspects of their service, leading to confusion and frustration.
  7. Limited payment options: Some users may be unable to purchase tickets due to limited payment options, such as only accepting credit cards when the user only has a debit card.
