Stage Stubs is the easiest-to-use and best-value event ticketing platform built specifically for performing arts and dance events based in United Kingdom.
My Role
I worked full-time for the Raviga Group as a UX UI Designer. My task was to completely change the previous web platform, as well as create a mobile app for event organizers so that it would be convenient and easy for them to manage tickets on their phones right at the event.

Problem
Mobile app for ticket scanning
Stage Stubs project, a leading event organizer, is facing the critical challenge of efficiently tracking and managing participant attendance in real time in the mobile app. Despite leveraging several tools, Stage Stub’s management is still struggling to get accurate data on the number of tickets sold, the remaining tickets, and how many participants have checked in. This lack of insight is leading to chaos and making it difficult for organizers to make informed decisions at events.
As a result, Stage Stubs is seeking a solution that would enable them to effectively monitor event attendance and provide a seamless experience to their clients.

Solution for Mobile App
The solution was to create a mobile app that enables Stage Stubs organizers to track and manage participant attendance in real-time.
Dashboard / Ticket scanning
The app should have a dashboard that displays key metrics such as the number of tickets sold, remaining tickets, and the number of participants who have checked in. This will provide organizers with valuable insights to help them make informed decisions.
The app should enable organizers to scan tickets at the entrance of the event using their mobile devices. This will enable them to get accurate data on the number of tickets sold and the remaining tickets.
Tracking / Notifications / Analytics
Real-time attendance tracking: The app should enable organizers to track participant attendance in real time. This will help them make informed decisions during the event.
Notifications: The app should be equipped with a notification feature that sends alerts to organizers when specific events happen, such as when a ticket is scanned or when a participant checks in.
Analytics: The app should have an analytics feature that enables organizers to analyze attendance data and identify trends that could help them improve their future events.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS AND BENCHMARKING
Based on this analysis, Ticketmaster appears to be the strongest competitor, with a wide variety of events and an established brand, but also has high service fees and limited transparency about pricing. Eventbrite is a strong competitor for community events, but may not be the best choice for larger or more complex events. Skiddle and See Tickets have their strengths but also have weaknesses that could impact user experience.
In order to compete with these platforms, a new web ticketing platform Stage Stubs would need to offer a strong value proposition, such as lower fees or better customer service, and prioritize user experience through an intuitive, user-friendly design and comprehensive event listings. It would also need to ensure transparency about pricing and fees, and provide a range of payment options to cater to different users’ preferences.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS (mobile)
First, I compared other event management apps used by UK clients to get some inspiration. I have highlighted similar features on other apps similar to those highlighted in user stories.
I compared the features of each product and identified the capabilities mobile app, including expertise and a deeper understanding of their business model. I have defined a general navigation and customization process to make the user experience more immersive.
Pros and Cons
Research
TARGET AUDIENCE (web and mobile)
The target audience for web ticketing platforms would typically include event organizers looking to sell tickets for their events and attendees looking to purchase tickets for events they are interested in attending. The specific demographics and interests of the target audience may vary depending on the types of events being sold through the platform. For example, a platform that focuses on music festivals may target a younger audience interested in live music, while a platform that sells tickets for food and drink events may target a more mature, foodie-oriented audience.
Ultimately, I did research on clients (users) and companies (organizers). How many users and companies use the Stage Stubs platform and from which countries, (in percent %).

Research
Questionnaire (mobile)
To better understand the needs and what features event organizers would like to see in a new mobile application, I prepared a questionnaire for existing clients of Stage Stubs.
These questions can help to identify the pain points and needs of event organizers, and provide insights into the features that would be most useful in a mobile app for managing event attendance.

User Persona
For a general understanding, I made a portrait of the user. These are some of the clients of Stage Stubs. In my case study, I show only 2 people as an example.

CUSTOMER JOURNEY MAP
By understanding the customer journey, the web ticketing platform can optimize each stage of the process to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue. This can include simplifying the purchase process, providing clear and concise communication, offering relevant and personalized recommendations, and investing in customer support to address any issues that arise.
